		<title>Registered Nurse - RN - Orthopedics/Urology/Med-Surg  Job (Phoenix, AZ, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Description<br/><br/>The Inpatient/365 Registered Nurse is accountable for the coordination of direct nursing care. Provides high risk nursing care (e.g., conscious sedation, complex patient assessment, and high risk procedures) and has the required knowledge, skills, and competencies. Provides patient/family education and discharge planning. Provides professional nursing care across practice settings and the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. Where nursing care is provided, the nursing process of assessing, diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing, and evaluating is the basis for care delivered. The Inpatient/365 Nurse provides leadership through activities such as teaching, community involvement, preceptor role, relief Team Lead assignment, committee work, and participation in research. The Inpatient/365 Registered Nurse works in the inpatient environment and/or a work area that operates 365 days per year. May have restricted on-call responsibilities outside of 'normal' work hours and may be cross-trained to work in multiple sites at the employer's discretion. This unit is a 40 bed unit, including 7 rehab beds, serving both a medical and surgical patient population with a focus on orthopedic and urology surgical services.<br/><br/><br/><b>Department:</b> Orthopedics/Urology/Medical-Surgical<br/><br/><br/><b>Qualifications:</b> Associate's degree in nursing or diploma in nursing required; BSN preferred. Minimum one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse. Availability to work flexible hours that may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills preferred. Current RN licensure from Arizona or another state participating in the nurse licensure compact. Basic Life Support (BLS) completion preferred on hire; BLS must be completed within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter. ECG competency completed satisfactorily within six months of hire and maintained annually. Maintains ACLS and PALS as required by specific units. Maintains specialty certification per unit guidelines.
