		<description><![CDATA[Description<br/><br/>The Diagnostic Imaging Physicist works independently, using scientific methods to provide both physics and technical support. Evaluates exam protocols and diagnostic imaging equipment to ensure performance to the specification established by the FDA, State of Arizona and Mayo Clinic internal standards for accurate measurement and safe delivery of radiation doses. The Diagnostic Imaging physicist also assists with all aspects of research and development in medical imaging and works to optimize diagnostic images while maintaining patient radiation, SAR, or acoustic sound exposure levels that are as low as reasonably achievable. Acts as a resource and provides technical support to Physicians and Technologists.<br/><br/><br/><b>Department:</b> Radiology<br/><br/><br/><b>Qualifications:</b> EDUCATION: Has a Masters degree in Medical Physics or a related field. Must be board eligible or have Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Board of Radiology or the American Board of Medical Physics or Certified Imaging Informatics Professional. EXPERIENCE: Two years experience in a clinical position under the supervision of a qualified medical physicist in a department of Radiology. Experience in Imaging Informatics is preferred.
