The focus of the job includes providing primary care to complex medical patients and consulting on orthopedic surgical patients requiring preanesthesia evaluation and post operative management of medical comorbidities. A high level of autonomy is expected. 		<description><![CDATA[Description<br/><br/>The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will work closely with the physician group to care for outpatients with chronic or acute pain disorders. This includes patients with spine, neuropathic and cancer-related pain syndromes. The NP or PA will have the opportunity to see patients for ongoing management visits independently. The clinic generally sees patients from 8am to 5pm on weekdays. There are no weekend, holiday, or after hours on-call responsibilities.(007208, 007197)<br/><br/><br/><b>Department:</b> Anesthesiology - Pain Medicine<br/><br/><b>Basic <b>Qualifications:</b></b> Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license (or eligible) and certification (or eligible to be certified) as a ANP, FNP, ACNP (certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date). Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (or eligible). Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.<br/><br/>Other Qualifications: Experience in pain medicine care preferred.
