		<title>Sr. Research Technologist I  Job (Rochester, MN, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Description<br/><br/>Independently executes experimental studies, after initial discussions with principal investigator, in support of lab goals, grant commitments, including independent sub-projects. Designs and troubleshoots experiments and independently determines experimental progression. Analyzes and aids in interpretation of data; authors and co-authors papers, grants and presentations. Trains and oversees work of residents/fellows/other lab personnel. Reviews literature and customizes techniques for lab applications.<br/><br/><br/><b>Department:</b> Neurology Research<br/><br/><b>Basic <b>Qualifications:</b></b> Requires a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or relevant sciences with a minimum 3 years of laboratory experience in a work or educational setting. Mayo Clinic employees are asked to attach up to 3 of their most recent performance evaluations in order to be considered for this position.<br/><br/>Other Qualifications: Prefer skills in molecular biology, cloning, RT PCR, transient and permanent expression in cells, RNA and DNA isolation, Western Blotting, hybridizations, experience with handling mice, viruses and viral vectors. Prefer demonstrated abilities in experimental procedures, statistical analysis techniques, development of troubleshooting, and writing/presentation skills. Has experience in grant writing and has co-authored a paper or abstract and has demonstration of presentation skills. Additional graduate work in specialty area or an entry level master's degree is preferred.
