Statistical Programmer Analyst I Job

Description
This is a limited tenure position that has been approved until December 31, 2011 that may have the possibility of turning into a regular position. Will utilize statistical knowledge, programming techniques, and project management skills in data management and analysis. Will create and modify programs required to collect, manage and analyze data. The application of appropriate statistical methods is frequently directed by M.S. or Ph.D. Statisticians.
Department: Biostatistics/Health Science Research
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with a major in statistics/biostatistics or mathematics and a minimum of 2 computer science courses, or a computer science degree with experience and/or coursework in applied statistics. One to two years previous work experience in statistical programming for data management and analysis is a benefit. **TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST ATTACH A COVER LETTER. Preferred Qualifications: Proven written and oral communication, ability to think logically, demonstrated initiative, aptitude to learn quickly and time management skills are essential. Previous experience in SAS or S-PLUS/R is preferred. Applies programming skills to manage and analyze research data under the direction of M.S. or Ph.D. Statisticians. Our current openings are in the following research areas; cardiovascular disease, health care policy and cancer (breast, ovarian and lymphoma).
