Position Summary:

The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic is currently seeking a Research Fellow with interest/expertise in the field of CT imaging. The ideal candidate should have a M.D. degree or equivalent with 2 years of radiology residency, as this position is focused on training for research-oriented physicians. The successful candidates should be a team player, willing to perform in all aspects of the lab (including patient recruitment, image processing, and data analysis), and must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position requires review of medical records, visual image interpretation, manuscript and abstract preparation, and assisting in grant writing for the lab.

The lab is currently funded by the NIH to develop novel CT technologies and to optimize existing CT applications and protocols. Applications under study include all major organ systems, with a special focus on multi-energy CT. The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in multiple ongoing research projects.

Responsibilities: A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic. 800146; J2WRTP

Qualifications: Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.     • Relationship to the applicant.
    • Past work/academic performance.

    • Original or notarized copy of diploma or final transcript issued by school (English translation required).

Additional Qualifications: Must have completed at least two years of a radiology residency.
