Job Description:
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. 800146; J2WRTP
Basic Qualifications:
The candidate should have a M.D. with interest in anatomic pathology, or Ph.D. in pathology, molecular biology or related field.. Significant experience in microscopic work including histology/anatomic pathology, general molecular biology techniques including DNA and RNA extraction, PCR applications, and DNA sequencing. Experience in laser capture microdissection, immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in situ hybridization are a plus. Trouble shooting, organization skills, and problem solving skills are also required as well as the ability to work in a team environment. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
