The Registered Nurse is accountable for the coordination of Inpatient and/or Outpatient nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/ family education and discharge planning. This nurse provides professional nursing care across practice settings and the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. Where nursing care is provided, the nursing process of assessing, diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing and evaluating is the basis for care delivered. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required.

Pacemaker registered nurse provides acute and long term follow up for patients with pacemakers and internal cardiovertor defibrillators (ICDs). Comprehensive follow up includes assessment of device function, evaluation of the patient's response to therapy, and patient and family support and education. Participates in education for fellows and allied health staff and supports research protocols for the electrophysiology staff.

Qualifications: Current Arizona registered nurse licensure required; BSN preferred. Minimum 1+ years Registered Nurse experience required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate of completion preferred on hire or required within 30 days and maintains. Satisfactory completion of ECG competency within six months of hire and maintenance of competence annually. Works flexible hours that may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends and on-call. Adapts to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Exhibits good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills preferred. Maintains ACLS and PALS as required by specific units. Maintains specialty certification per unit guidelines. Cardiovascular, EKG, and Pacemaker experience is preferred.
