Receives direction from manager and/or operations administrator.
Works collaboratively with physicians, midlevel providers and allied health staff.
Gives direction to assigned coordinator assistants, medical secretaries and other clerical staff.
Interacts with patients and families.
The Transplant Coordinator Nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care and supervises nursing care provided by assistive personnel. He/she collaborates with nurse education specialists and nurse managers to provide information to the nursing staff. The Transplant Coordinator assesses and plans in collaboration with the patient, significant other and interdisciplinary healthcare team to meet educational and discharge needs. This individual has the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs. The Transplant Coordinator provides leadership through activities such as community involvement, committee work and participation in research. The American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice (2004), the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses (2001) and the United National Organ Standard's guidelines provide the basis for practice.

Department: Liver Transplant

Qualifications: Current Arizona registered nurse licensure required.
BSN preferred.
BLS required within 30 days of hire and maintains.
2 years of transplant experience highly desirable.
It is the requirement that the Transplant Coordinator without CCTC certification will achieve this within the first two years of employment.
Able to work flexible hours.
Works autonomously and in a team environment to achieve maximum operating
efficiency.
Flexible and adapts to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills required.
Strong computer skills preferred.
Maintains specialty certification per unit guidelines.

Salary: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $28.45 per hour. The internal pay scale is 37.
