Physician assistants are skilled members of the health care team who, with the supervision of a licensed physician, practice medicine by performing many of the tasks traditionally carried out by the physician. Provision of care may include, but is not limited to, comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosis, prescription of pharmacological agents and treatments, administration of non-pharmacological therapies, surgical procedures, surgical assisting, patient education, and research as directed by the supervising physician. Qualifications: The physician assistant is a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and meets the requirements for certification/re-certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). A current (or temporary) registration or temporary permit with the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice is required.td>
