NP or PA- Behavioral Neurology Job

This is a limited tenure position that has been approved for one year with the potential of becoming an on-going position if the practice model is successful. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will work in collaboration with physicians in the Behavioral Neurology division in the Department of Neurology to provide outpatient consultation and longitudinal medical care to adult patients with cognitive impairment/dementia. Provision of care includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment, initiation and interpretation of tests and procedures, and prescription of pharmacologic agents, treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies. Department: Behavioral Neurology
Basic Qualifications: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license (or eligible) and certification (or eligible to be certified) as a FNP, ANP, or ACNP (certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date). Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (or eligible). Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.
Preferred Qualifications: 2 - 3 years experience in care of patients with neurological diseases is strongly preferred.
