NP or PA Orthopedic Surgery (Adult Recon.) Job

Description

Collaborates with the assigned staff consultant and fellow/senior resident in all aspects of patient care. This position involves practice in the clinical setting, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care. Patient care in the operating room and surgical assisting is expected on some services. Hospital rounds may be required by the assigned service. Opportunities to cover other orthopedic subspecialty services when the primary consultant is away or assigned to other non-clinical activities. Potential to participate in research and publications depending on the assigned service and the needs of the department. Consultant specific training will be provided. At this time no after-hours call is required, but may be instituted at a future date. (007197, 007208)

Department: Orthopedic Surgery - Adult Reconstruction (Upper and Lower Extremity)

Basic Qualifications: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an ANP, FNP, or ACNP (certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date). Or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and licensure as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (or eligible).

Other Qualifications: One to two years of clinical and/or surgical experience preferred. Must be eligible for DEA registration. Ability to problem-solve, work independently, and assume responsibility for inpatient/outpatient interaction. Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills for effectively communicating with patients, family members, and colleagues in multiple disciplines. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.

Salary: Salaried - Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3076.80, based on a full-time position.
