NP or PA - Inpatient Psychiatry Job

Description
This physician assistant or nurse practitioner will work with patients in all age ranges covering all areas of inpatient psychiatry. In this highly collaborative position, the physician assistant or nurse practitioner is a key team member for the patients' medical and psychiatric care on a physician-led multi-disciplinary team. The PA or NP will be responsible for the initial admission interview and physical examination, managing ongoing medical and psychiatric issues, assessing new health concerns, managing medical and psychiatric emergencies, working with consulting services in the work-up of developing medical issues, providing patients and families with education regarding medical work-up and participating in daily inpatient psychiatric rounds. This position provides a myriad of opportunities to work with a variety of medical and psychiatric issues. New graduates are encouraged to apply. (007197)
Department: Psychiatry and Psychology
Basic Qualifications: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an FNP (certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date). Or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and licensure as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (or eligible).
Other Qualifications: BLS certification required. Must be eligible for DEA registration.
