NP or PA Hematology Job

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be an integral member of our outpatient Hematology group practice who cares for patients with myeloid diseases, including myelodysplastic syndromes, myeloproliferative disorders and acute leukemia. The role will primarily involve the outpatient management of established adult myeloid patients, which will involve the care of patients on clinical trials. This is a busy practice with consistent patient demand for services. The Hematology consultants in the myeloid practice are very supportive and interested in developing care models that incorporate Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. This individual will work as a team with Hematology consultants, fellows, residents, nurses and other allied health staff caring for patients with myeloid diseases. The division has an established and active inpatient NP/PA program supporting the BMT and Hematology hospital services and hospital-based outpatient practices. (007197, 007208)
Department: Hematology
Basic Qualifications: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an ANP, FNP, or ACNP (certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date). Or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice. The NP/PA must be eligible for DEA registration.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in hematology, blood and marrow transplant, oncology, internal medicine, or acute care preferred.
