Primary Care Internal Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work collaboratively with internal medicine physicians to provide primary care to our long-term care patients. The NP/PA will provide acute, chronic and preventive health care services to patients in the nursing home setting. The provision of care includes but is not limited to comprehensive evaluation, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies, and counseling patients.
Department: Employee & Community Health (Primary Care Internal Medicine)
Basic Qualifications: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license (or eligible) and certification (or eligible to be certified) as a GNP, ANP, FNP, or ACNP (certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date). Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (or eligible). Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of two years long-term care experience preferred. Please submit resume and 2-3 letters of reference.
