Inpatient Coding Supervisor Job

The Coding Supervisor will manage the personnel and workflow processes of the inpatient coding team. Included in these responsibilities are selecting, training, coaching, and developing staff; optimizing work processes, productivity and service; resolving work place problems of staff ; developing procedures and guidelines. The Coding Supervisor will participate in the overall management of the coding operations unit through involvement in inter-and intra-departmental projects, work groups, task forces, and committees. Serves as liaison between inpatient coding group and other groups inside and outside of Mayo Clinic in addition to coding colleagues at other Mayo sites (Jacksonville and Rochester). Externally interacts with auditors, third-party payers, and vendors.
Department: Patient Financial Services
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant management/supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge skills and abilities have been achieved. This position also requires a minimum of one of the following credentials: RHIA, RHIT, or CCS.
