Job Description
An exciting new opportunity to join a team of 14 Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners awaits you in Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic Health System! Based in Barron, where annual patient volumes have increased from 5,000 in 2007 to 6,400 in 2010, you'll have the opportunity to lead a team of healthcare professionals utilizing your well-developed procedural skills in handling critical cases. Staffing shifts is expected in our other critical access hospitals in Bloomer and Osseo as well as in our Level II trauma center in Eau Claire.
With no call, 12-hr shifts, and ample input in schedule-setting, this position offers plenty of work-life balance.
SITE INFORMATION
Our facility in Barron has a wide range of services including 24-hour emergency medical care, urgent care, same-day surgery, women's health, advanced diagnostic technology, cardiac and pulmonary rehab, as well as occupational and physical therapy. Technologically advanced resources make it possible to practice state-of-the-art medicine in a vacation-like setting.
COMMUNITY INFORMATION
Barron is a community of 3,500 located in Northwest Wisconsin—100 miles east of Minneapolis, MN and 50 miles north of Eau Claire, WI. The area is promoted as a prime recreational area for tourists and locals year round and is a friendly place surrounded by rolling countryside, crystal-clear lakes, stately forests, abundant wildlife, and endless array of flowers. Downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ATVing, sledding, and ice skating fill the winters and give way to water skiing, swimming, boating, running, hiking, biking and golfing in the summer months. Basic Qualifications:
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant degree program. Must complete 100 hours of Continuing Medical Education, (CME), every two years. Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner degree program. Must complete 25 hours of Continuing Medical Education, (CME), every 5 years.
Other Qualifications:
Unrestricted prescriptive authority in Wisconsin, (Wisconsin Board of Medical Examiners and DEA). Eligible for Allied Health privileges at Mayo Clinic Health System.

Exemption Status: Exempt
Hours/Pay Period: Full time
Schedule Details: 12-hour shifts in Barron, Bloomer & Osseo; 10-hr shifts in Eau Claire
Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every two weeks is approximately $3,048, based on a full-time position.
