CRNA - Anesthesiology Job

Description

Receives direction from anesthesiologists, supervisor, and manager. Gives direction to nursing staff, anesthesia students, and residents. Works cooperatively with physicians, operations administrators, managers, nurses, allied health staff, and external customers. Interacts with patients and families. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) performs clinical anesthesia duties and takes appropriate responsibility for direct patient care and for on-call as assigned. The CRNA prioritizes anesthetic decisions, administers anesthetic agents under department protocols and guidelines, and communicates patient status to healthcare team members. This individual performs coordinating duties by facilitating staff coverage, assignments, and breaks in the operating room area. This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required. The CRNA demonstrates leadership through involvement on committees and/or team projects, education, and research and actively seeks to improve the practice of nursing through performance improvement initiatives. This individual is active in professional organizations and participates in community activities. The American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice (2004), the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses (2001), and Rules of the Arizona State Board of Nursing (2005) are the basis for practice. The Cardiac CRNAs share call every 6th week and every 6th weekend.

Qualifications: Graduation from a nationally accredited anesthesia program. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs. Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Demonstrated leadership ability and strong computer skills preferred. Current Arizona licensure as a Registered Nurse and a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Certification from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter. Prefer Cardiac experience or a CRNA who is willing to learn and be on the Cardiac CRNA call team. EEO/AA - M/F/D/V

Salary: Salaried - Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum bi-weekly salary is approximately $4,559.20 based on a full-time position.
