Job Description
The Pain Clinic is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner who works in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals to offer comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment & rehabilitation for painful disorders. Tasks may include: taking chronic medication refills, triaging phone calls during business hours, and fielding paperwork for disability, workers compensation, and physical therapy renewals.

Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin is an 80-bed hospital, attached to a 70+ physician multi-specialty clinic serving a 54,000 person service area. The Medical Center recently completed a $28 million dollar expansion and renovation, in line with the institutional thrust to provide state-of-the-art care in Southern Minnesota.

Basic Qualifications:
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification or eligible to be certified as an ANP, GNP or FNP by an approved certifying organization. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and DEA registration required. Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and meets the requirements for certification/re-certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).A current registration or temporary permit with the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice is required.Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistant.Three to five years experience in a medical clinic or hospital is preferred.

Other Qualifications:
Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated leadership ability. Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs. Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Strong computer skills in an Electronic Medical Record preferred. Experience in Pain Medicine or related specialty (e.g. Physical Medicine, Neurology or Orthopedics) preferred.

Schedule Details: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
