The Paramedic must have excellent judgment and be able to prioritize decisions and act quickly in the best interest of the patient, must be self disciplined, able to develop patient rapport, interview hostile patients, maintain safe distance, and recognize and utilize communication unique to diverse multicultural groups and ages within those groups. Must be able to function independently at optimum level in a non-structured environment that is constantly changing. Current Minnesota and/or Wisconsin EMT-Paramedic Licensure/Certification. Current ITLS or PHTLS. Current PALS certification. Current ACLS certification. Current AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification. Current and valid driver's license, Minnesota or Wisconsin.<br/><br/><b>Other Qualifications:</b><br/>Associate or baccalaureate degree in paramedicine is preferred. Experience as an EMT/Paramedic preferred. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator.  Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants.<br/><br/>A postdoctoral fellowship is available at the Center for Advanced Imaging at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  The purpose of this postdoctoral position is the development of an in-vivo cardiac magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) application.<br/><br/>Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in physics, engineering, computer science or a related discipline.  Experience with MRI pulse sequence programming is required.  Experience with cardiac-specific MRI applications, image analysis, and mathematical modeling are desirable.<br/>The postdoctoral fellow will work with a team of MR physicists, physicians, engineers and mathematicians in a state of the art facility with approximately 20,000 net square feet of research space.
