Job Description
The General Systems Support Unit within the Department of Information Technology has an opening for a highly motivated Analyst/Programmer. The responsibility of this individual will be to assist in the analysis, design, development and ongoing support of various systems and interfaces in a team environment. These systems are typically web based applications used to enhance IT and administrative processes. The person filling this position will be involved in developing and supporting systems using technologies including RAD, WebSphere, Java, and relational databases (SQL Server, Sybase, DB2). Candidates must be able to gain a good understanding of the technologies and function of the applications and proactively participate in customer discussions regarding enhancements, priorities, and the status of project activities. Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree and experience/training in software development; or and Associate degree and 2 years professional software development experience; or 8 years of professional software development experience. Specific skills with J2EE, SQL, and relational data modeling are required.

Other Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have experience with Java Frameworks, JavaScript, jQuery, IBM's Rational Application Developer and WebSphere. Some experience with mainframe technologies, .Net, or Cold Fusion are a plus. Successful candidates must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. The candidate will join the Surgical Systems Unit as part of a team composed of skilled staff who provide analysis, application development, and support of several vital applications utilized by various surgical practices in Rochester, Arizona, and Florida. The individual will be working on some strategic initiatives within the unit focusing on custom developed solutions. We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical and programming skills who can successfully implement, support and augment these complex systems. The individual will be helpful in building out solutions using some of the newest .Net and Mobile technologies. The candidate will be expected to know or quickly learn and apply advanced .Net techniques to develop responsive, dynamic, custom built solutions for Mayo surgery and some procedural practices.
